Tricas durable, polyester powder coating is applied electro-statically as a powder, and then it is baked and temperatures exceeding 400 degrees. This causes the powder to melt and flow evenly all around the frame. All of Tricas cushions feature a high-density, non-woven, thermo-bonded fill using 100 percent polyester staple fibers. This fill is designed to dry quickly and retain its loft for years. The fibers are also flame retardant, meeting fire rating CA117. Sunbrella fabric is not waterproof; it is water repellent. This means that during the finishing process a water repellent finish is applied to the fabric. Normal wear and usage will reduce the effectiveness of this finish, as will cleaning the fabric. Sunbrella fabrics, if kept clean, will not mildew. An inherent characteristic of acrylic fiber is that it will not support the growth of mildew as natural fiber does. Mildew will grows on any surface that is dirty, so keep your Sunbrella fabric clean.
